We were able to breathe some relief today. Everyone knows where we are in the economy right now. No reminder necessary right? In a time where we are seeing lay-offs, budget cuts and furlough plans, there are some who are standing strong and remembering that we have to work together to get out of this mess. Keybank, for the past nineteen years, has implemented their “Neighbors Make a Difference” day. Corporate-wide, some 7,500 Keybank employees from Maine to Alaska will be volunteering in their communities. This adds up to more than 30,000 employee volunteer hours and nearly $600,000 in salary equivalent. We stumbled across a slew of red and white Keybank t-shirts, which later were discovered to be Denver branch volunteers working side-by-side to clean up Governor’s Park. We were inspired by their enthusiasm, and community business commitment. What have you seen that has given you hope that we are actually going to make it? Jon captured some great shots as all of the great karma in the air warmed our hearts. Take that economy!
